Start With the Record Custodian

Choose the office that created the record before sending a request. The sheriff holds county jail intake and booking material. Thomaston Police holds its own city incident reports. Town Hall, the state corrections department, and federal locators answer different questions.

County booking records and Thomaston Police records are related, but they are not the same record. The sheriff and jail are the logical custodians for the jail intake sheet and booking photograph. TPD is the custodian for its incident or arrest report. TPD arrests that reach the county jail appear in the official Upson County Jail Population Website with an arresting-agency label such as “THOMASTON PD.” The city does not publish a separate official daily arrest blotter in the sources reviewed.

For a sheriff booking-sheet or photograph request, identify the person's full name, a narrow booking date or modest date range, the arresting agency, and any booking or case identifier shown in the portal. Ask for an existing record and electronic copies when available. The county administration page provides an Open Records Request Form and lists support at 106 E. Lee Street, Suite 110, Thomaston, GA 30286, 706-647-7012, but a request for sheriff-created booking material should name the Sheriff's Office as the custodian. Under the Georgia Open Records Act, the initial response baseline is generally three business days. The sheriff has not published a Upson-specific photo fee or guaranteed completion time, so ask for an estimate and verify any current charge or redaction.

Use these official paths for the type of information you need:

• County booking photo, intake record, or current custody: open the Upson County lookup guide and the official InterOp portal. Current Inmates is a present-custody view. The portal's 24 Hours Arrests and Inmates by Arrest Date views can include records marked released.
• A recent arrest or a release alert: use Inmates Booked Last 24 Hours for rolling intake, Inmates by Arrest Date for a chosen date range, and Georgia VIP or VINELink for custody notifications where available. Neither alert service is a complete mugshot source. For a mugshot-removal question, use the Georgia law section on the home page and the official case outcome rather than paying an intermediary.
• Thomaston police material: request the city incident or arrest report from Thomaston Police. Request the jail intake sheet or booking photograph from the sheriff. The two offices may hold related records without holding identical copies.
• Yatesville-related records: no municipal police department, police-specific portal, or town jail was identified. Use the county sheriff and InterOp for a booking question. Yatesville Town Hall, 17 Empire Street, Yatesville, GA 31097, 706-472-3405, is the route for town-created municipal records, not county jail photographs.
• Warrant or wanted-information questions: see Sheriff's Most Wanted for the county's documented warrant-check path and the Georgia warrant guidance. No Upson name-search warrant portal or maintained official most-wanted gallery was identified, so confirm current information with the sheriff.
• Court outcome or case status: follow the court named in the booking entry, beginning with the Upson Clerk of Superior Court or the Georgia Courts E-Access directory. A booking charge is an intake snapshot and is not a conviction.
• Sentenced state prisoner record or photo: use the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search. GDC custody and supervision are separate from a newly booked or locally sentenced Upson County Jail record.
• Federal or immigration custody: search the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator for federal sentenced custody and the ICE Online Detainee Locator for immigration detention. These systems do not function as a Upson County booking-photo gallery.
